have any of y’all cloned persimmons?
A neighbor has a few that produce well each and I would like to harvest a few branches if they’ll clone well.

Thanks for any response.

If you are talking about grafting or topworking with scion wood......yes, it is easy to do. It's done the same way as apples and/or pears. Collect the scion wood while dormant in the early spring, store it in the fridge and graft to the host tree as the tree is coming out of dormancy. I have 4 persimmon trees that were topworked in the spring of 2018 and already producing "cloned" fruit in the fall of 2019.

Broad term I guess. More like taking the scion and rooting it. Can the scion wood produce roots by itself?
