Liquid fert or lime

with all the new work on the farm this year I am busting my butt to get all the new plots soil tested and amended.

I am curious if there is any validity to products that are a liquid lime?

Also products that are liquid type fertilizers, do they work at all? I have used standard fert recently but just curious if giving plants a shot of a liquid fert does give it a jolt/boost.

The cost per acre of granular is usually way cheaper. The benefit of spraying is if you have to spray anyway for weeds you can do both at once but for just a fert or lime app you would have to pay more per ton for liquid.

X2 for granular. Cheap, readily available, works fast and its easy to spread.

I've sprayed my beans once in the past with liquid fert and it worked just fine but no better than granular fert. Like others have said, I was going to spray gly anyway so I had it all mixed together and sprayed fert and gly at the same time.

Liquid lime products are mostly for lawns, not AG fields, and will be much more expensive than bagged lime to get the same results.

Liguid fertilizer is also more expensive than bagged fertilizer, but is a legit product that is seeing more and more widespread use in agriculture, take for an example; most large scale farmers now use liquid fertilizer tanks on their planters to plant corn. About the only time that I use liquid fertilizer on my food plots is for a new seeding that's up and growing, but struggling a little bit, clover has a tendency to start slow, and I will put a foliar application in with my herbicide mix in my 25 gallon ATV sprayer. Liquid fertilizer is also an excellent way to get micronutrients on your fields if they are deficient. I use AlfaPower MP liquid fertilizer on my new clover seedings after they have emerged, usually with the first weed spraying, $28.00 per gallon, recommended rate per application is 2 quarts per acre, recommended up to four applications per year.

Now that’s thinking there Gator. Never thought of that but makes perfect sense to mix them.

Thanks all for the tips. Honestly I have amended many of my fields with my granular lime and fert already. However I was just hoping that if I bought some liquid fert to spray on when spraying weeds it could be worthwhile to give them a boost.
