Thanks everyone. If they keep coming I will update this from time to time so we can watch them grow.

Lak, I don't have any cameras on my son's land right now. It is mostly crop land, and this year it has been planted in corn. My cousin has a large tract that joins me and has just been planted in beans. I do have pictures of them along the line between me and him. My guess is that they will spend a lot of time in those beans this year and bounce back and forth between the beans and my main plot where they are eating every day at the current time. The beans and my plots are separated by one of my NWSG fields and about 200 yards of distance.

They are working the clover and chicory to death right now - just inhaling those big chicory leaves. They were really working the mineral site, but that slowed down just this week.

I now recognize the deer with the huge bases as the beautiful young deer that we passed at least 6 times during gun season last year. He had just started to get that junk on the left side last year and it is shaped identical this year - only bigger. He was a mainframe 8 that was in the 130 range last year. It looks like he could be much bigger this time. This should produce some great pictures to assure us of what we already know - passing nice young deer is the right thing to do.

I might know the other one. Right now about 70% sure he could be the deer I called "Abby Normal" that disappeared from cameras 2 hours before the gun opener in 2016. Naturally, I assumed he got shot, but this may be him. I think I will know in a few weeks. That deer was crazy looking. If it ends up being him, I will post some pictures from back then to compare.

There is an old saying. "Boys will be boys."

I used to work with a guy who had a great grandfather with a big family. The great grandfather took off one day on the buckboard saying he was going to town for a while. But, after weeks, it became obvious something had happened to him when he didn't return.

Seven years later they were out on the porch and saw him coming back down the road. He had another wife and a bunch of kids. Everybody just moved in together and lived happily ever after...

Yep, boys will be boys.

That top one is gonna have a nice mess of junk right around his brows ! I hope you get to hang your tag on him. He looks like a very mature buck too. Y'all have some mighty nice deer in Kaintuck !

Update: Coming to the plots less often than a few weeks ago - couple of times a week now. My guess is that they are spending more time in the nearby beans.
