States that don't require a license

Wow, who knew ? Gotta have a license to spit in Texas. I think our only exemption is hunting feral hogs on your own property, all game animals must be hunted with a hunting license on your person.
Makes a huge difference when you are looking at the price of out of state license every year

Landowners here have free hunting following the regs for that year. Seniors have free permits also still I believe. I have a lifetime license so makes no diff to me and need it for hunting other lands. Pretty cheap resident and out of state rates but you must have extra tag for trout or national forest lands. I've never been checked by a game warden in my 1000 years of hunting luckily.

Make sure out-of-state landowners get the same perk as in-state landowners. I dunno about MO.

x2! I think most who responded to this thread weren't clear that you mean "nonresident landowner", Gator. I own land in Kentucky but must pay the NR price for everything.

I think IF the state you own land in has a landowner exemption then it should not matter if you are a resident or not.....you pay the taxes, you should get the perks. I did not know this until I looked it up as it has never affected me before......Indiana allows a non-resident landowner to be exempt ONLY if the state where you reside offers the same exemption in that state (you do have to provide proof of ownership of the property if checked by the DNR). Clip below is right out of our regulations guide. Not sure of the logic behind that, but it is what it is. Non-res deer tag here is $150..... I think that is season specific as well (archery, General firearm or Muzzleloader). Or you buy the "bundle for $300 and hunt all three seasons.

Yep, Indiana fish and game laws have a lot of the principle of reciprocity flavor blended in- this is one instance where it seems excessive. If you pay the property taxes on it, you should have the same rights regardless of residency. J-bird, I agree that the state is going to come after the landowner exemption. I’m surprised that it’s lasted this long!
