Shed antlers?

Can someone give me the cliff notes version of advice for shed hunting? Where to look, helpful hints, etc?

I would say across the east more are found in bedding areas, food plot (especially in cold winters), trails connect bedding and food, south facing slopes in cold climates. In some habitats, water holes are good locations to search.

Where shed antlers are found is many times a product of the square miles where the buck lives. What state are you located in Kwood? The ground you hunt is more ag than cover or less ag than cover.

Go to an internet browser and enter "Tips on Hunting Shed Antlers" and see what returns for that search. Read some at night at your will learn some pointers worth remembering.

If you live where snow fall occurs, track backwards to their beds and mark that spot on a map or a phone. Finding the their food sources can be easier in some habitats - although in a big woods setting it can be difficult.

I never liked cliff notes - seemed like in college folks want to cut corners.

Good luck to you.

I’ve found 7 now, but none our big boys. They were found amongst brassica stalks on the 5th pass through the plots. It’s amazing how they can be so hard to find if the lights not just right.

Found 8 so far...every buck we had on camera has shed completely off...about 20 different bucks. Early for our area but I figure it was because of the total mast failure this year...

Way ahead of me Johnny, I've walked 23,95756,65869 miles and found 2 sheds and 3 dead deer. Spent 2 hrs walking the other day finding nothing then rounded the corner in the Polaris to have 4 bucks run by still holding antlers.

screenshot of my path searching a field the other day. I'm still stuck at zero for the year.
