Bowhunter's upstate New York property tour

I got two last fields planted yesterday, one I did was an LC mix rotated to brassicas. I know it's later than it should be, but with all the rain and warm temperatures we've been getting I hope I should be ok.

Here is a new plot that I put in that is just clover.

Not sure what your rain situation has been but we have been dry now since last Tues night, of course I did not get the main plot done in until late Tues evening. We are looking dry in my area until Thurs. I may have missed the window, but hopefully you get the rain.
 
Catching up on property threads this morning and had to go back a couple of pages to catch up on yours. Love the camera on the exclusion cage. Can't believe I've never thought of that. Great idea and one I'm going to use.

Here is my Brassica plot that I planted on August 26th. I think it's doing quite well considering how late I planted.

Cannot see your #1 - nice looking everything - with the late Summer in NY your late plots are perfect -
 
Here is a video I took last night of the double split brow tine ten that I had pictures of in September. I haven't seen him in about a month or so until he showed up last night.

 
Great video, very exciting to watch a natural sequence of activity like that. At some angles I thought oh he'll let that one go but at other angles he was huge and I expected a shot when he stepped out into the open spot.

He's gonna get the pass from me this year hoping he grows into something special next year. I almost enjoy watching them grow rather than putting an arrow in them anymore.
 
Good for you Bowhunter. He will be something special for sure. I look forward to seeing the one you are after.
 
I did some mowing of my clover fields yesterday. By far the earliest I’ve ever had to mow them but we’ve had optimum growing conditions this spring so far. It took me longer to walk the fields and check for fawns than it did to mow them.

Our clover fields have gone nuts as well. Weather has been crazy. We had 17% chance of today and it’s rained steadily since dawn. The good news is I got an acre of corn/beans in the ground and all the trash (last year’s stalks) cleaned out of another 3 acres. Bad news it’s likely to be too wet to do anything tomorrow but spread lime late tomorrow afternoon. Being a weekend plotter has real challenges...
