Planting ahead of a hurricane....

Far better than after Laura. Not sure rain total as all gauges overflowed at 12" . Wind not nearly a problem as before . Reports of flooding around but thats to be expected and not uncommon for here. About to tour farm to assess.

12”+, that’s a lot of rain! We got somewhere between 3-6” all the way over in western NC.

Crazy, one after another on the gulf coast this year.

Interesting aside. The only significant rain we’ve had on our place in NW North Carolina since August are the tropical depressions that came on shore along the gulf then moved NE and out across the mid Atlantic region. It’s been hurricanes or nothing this year.

Same for us but in reverse. The only hope we’ve had for rain has been the hurricanes, but substantial rain has missed us every time. I’m sure Rusty and my friend Greg in Mississippi would be only too glad to share. ;)

We’d been dry for a while now, rain began yesterday and now we’re under an arial flood warning. And our farmer didn’t get wheat in yet, prolly be a while before it’s in now.
