Eliminating sweet gums....

Never had the nerve to do a warm season burn. Cool season burns are hit and miss on killing hardwood stems. When did you burn that?

It is really hard to get a burn to go in these humid days---even with dry fuels. A good back fire and downwind break and it's not an issue. Fire won't burn if there are no fuels.

Question for the experts: What can I spray to kill gums ? These would be small gums that we usually have to mow down each year. Some of them sprout from stumps, some are free growing.

I’ve been doing a bit of a sadistic experiment on 2 18” sweetgums in my yard. They shrugged off 50:50 gly last year. A triclopyr treatment this year is looking more promising.

LOL. I bet killed a lot of BIG sweet gums by drilling 5/8” holes in them at a 45 degree angle and filling them with straight glyphosate concentrate.
